Adobe's June Creative Cloud Update Brings AI-Generated Video, Offline Editing, and Vector Sketching to Six Apps
Adobe's June 2026 Creative Cloud update adds AI video generation in Lightroom, offline Remove Tool in Photoshop, sketch-to-vector in Illustrator, and four new AI rotoscoping tools in After Effects — across the full suite.
Adobe dropped a broad AI update across Creative Cloud this week — covering Lightroom, Lightroom Classic, Photoshop, Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Illustrator simultaneously. It’s the most sweeping coordinated release Adobe has shipped in a single cycle.
The lead feature is Lightroom’s Photo-to-Video, powered by Adobe Firefly and Google Veo. Select a still photo, describe the motion you want, and Lightroom generates a video clip. The integration runs directly inside Lightroom’s workflow rather than as a separate export step, which means photographers can stay in their existing catalog management context without switching apps. This closes the gap between static image editing and short-form video content that has been growing for years.
Photoshop gets an offline-capable Remove Tool. The original Remove Tool required a cloud connection to process results. The June update ships a fully on-device AI model that handles subject removal, background extension, and object replacement without touching Adobe’s servers. For photographers working in environments where connectivity is unreliable — or for clients with strict data privacy requirements — this is a practical fix that removes a genuine workflow barrier.
Illustrator’s Concept-to-Vector is the most technically interesting addition. Upload a rough sketch, a photo, or a low-resolution reference, and Illustrator converts it into fully editable vector paths. The AI interprets shape intent rather than pixel values, producing clean bezier curves from messy hand-drawn input. Traditionally that translation required either a skilled illustrator or hours of manual tracing. Concept-to-Vector does it in seconds.
After Effects adds four new AI rotoscoping tools targeting one of the most labor-intensive tasks in video post-production: cutting subjects from backgrounds frame by frame. The tools handle edge detection, hair and fine detail, motion blur, and multi-subject scenes — areas where manual roto work was slow and expensive. Combined with the existing Roto Brush, After Effects is now substantially faster for VFX and motion graphics isolation.
Premiere Pro receives AI-assisted audio cleanup improvements and smarter scene detection. The updates align with Adobe’s push to automate the repetitive segments of video editing workflows.
Adobe also updated pricing to $13.75/user/month for the Creative Cloud All Apps plan. The price change and the feature volume together signal Adobe’s continued bet that AI-enhanced tooling justifies subscription premium against cheaper alternatives.
Whether that bet holds depends on whether users perceive the AI features as genuinely useful or as checkbox items. Photo-to-Video and Concept-to-Vector have real workflows behind them. The offline Remove Tool solves a documented complaint. Those three alone make the June update one of Adobe’s stronger recent cycles.
